Access control is not one-size-fits-all. Existing locks, door frames, fire ratings, egress requirements, accessibility, power availability, and life-safety rules affect the design. Electric strikes, magnetic locks, electrified hardware, and wireless locksets each serve different situations.
Important: Electronic access should never interfere with required emergency egress. Door hardware and system design must follow applicable fire, building, and life-safety requirements.
Cloud-managed or on-premises?
Cloud-managed access control can simplify remote administration, updates, and multi-site management, often through a subscription. On-premises systems may provide local control and suit organizations with specific IT policies. Review recurring costs, internet dependency, support, data access, and future expansion before choosing.

For visitor entry, a video intercom can allow occupants or staff to see, speak with, and admit guests. When access control events and camera views are planned together, managers gain better context than either system provides alone.
